Well as it turns out, Nick's few days away is far from a dirty weekend. He is off to a family reunion on his Mum's side of the family. Ah well... it could have been exciting!
He spoke to me this morning and mentioned that he would be at his Aunt's until Sunday but that he would like to take Gemima with him. He looked very apprehensive when he made the suggestion and seemed totally shocked when I said I thought it was a good idea. He is picking up relatives from Canada at Heathrow this evening.
Gemima is all excited about meeting new family members but sad that I won't be there. She accepted that I have to go to work and she has got a little notebook and is going to keep a diary and draw pictures and take photos.
Nick seemed so pleased that I was positively encouraging him to take Gemima that he even agreed to do his washing up which has been in the kitchen since last week.
Haven't been home yet so I'll have to wait and see whether he actually did it or not!
