Got a call from Mum at about 8:30ish to say that Nick had still not come to collect Gemima from her.
Apparently Jade had called and he'd said that he didn't leave work til 8pm but when Jade challenged him it turned out that he was in the pub but he hadn't bothered to let anyone know he was going!
Mum was a tad pissed off at this - as you'd expect - especially when she heard Jade say to Nick that if he turned up drunk then she wouldn't let him take Gemima.
My Mum took the phone off Jade and listened to whatever rubbish he was spouting before interrupting him and reading him the riot act for taking the piss and just expecting her to babysit without actually asking her to.
Apparently at that point he became a bit confused and said something along the lines of "oh, its you Gail, you sounded like Jade there." Wow - he must have had... oh... at least a pint to be so muddled and easily confused as to think he must have been talking to my Mum all along!
And we all know from past posts just how well he can hold his drink!
In the end Gemima had to stay over at Mum's - she went to bed very upset at about 9.30pm - two hours after her usual bedtime. Poor kid was very confused about the sudden change in her routine - especially as she had no overnight stuff and no teddy!
Selfish thoughtless bastard!
