Had a relatively lazy morning today. Not so much of a lie in as a laze about.
I'm feeling really emotional lately. Probably a combination of hormones (damn periods!), lack of sleep (insomnia is a bitch and I really don't want it back again) and stress. Poor Keith bore the brunt of it this morning. Lots of tears and me being insecure and wanting to run and find a safe place to hide in. I'm usually pretty good at keeping that in check and not too many people know when I'm feeling this way - but there's really no hiding it from Keith - he does know me pretty well now!
So, once I had gone and given myself a whopper of a first-class headache and then calmed down to a relatively human state again, it was decided that we would go and see if we could get a refund for Sam's model racing car. Apparently he has been having a mulitude of problems starting it and has gone through two new pull-start thingys since he bought it three weeks ago.
Unfortunately, as Sam had been able to use it and it was obviously well-used and grubby, the shop refused to give a refund, however they did agree to replace the pull-start thingy free of charge. After Sam had a mini-strop and stomped out of the shop growling, Keith and I agreed to leave it with the shop to be repaired, as fixing it and selling it on seemed to be the next best thing if Sam really didn't want it any more. Sam has now agreed to sell it to Shane for quite a reasonable price.
While we were waiting for the repairs to be done, we bombed off into Chelmsford where I bought a new stylus for Aaron's DS as Gemima had lost his one in Nick's car. While we were getting that, Keith and Sam picked up a few more games for the PS3.
This was followed by the realisation that we all had growly tummies as Gemima was the only one who had eaten breakfast! A very quick trip to a wetherspoons pub proved to be fruitless as they had run out of vital ingredients for three of the four meals we wanted to order. So it was back to the old haunt of Pizza Hut again.
We made it back to the model shop with about three minutes to spare! Picked up Sam's newly repaired car and found that the guys in the shop had also thrown in another spare pull-start thingy with a stronger cord, which should hopefully resolve some of the issues. Sam is still determined to sell it though.
After a quick pit-stop at Sophie's, we headed back to Keith's and sat in front of the TV with tea and nibbles and watched Edward Scissorhands, one of my favourite films. Gemima loved it - she'd never seen it before.
After Gemima had gone to bed Sam and Keith made me watch Cloverfield... with no warning of scarey monsters!!! I was good though - I sat through it - even if I did curl myself up in a ball, hold Keith's hand (he had to wrap his arm around me!) and bite my thumb nail.
Yes, I know I am a wuss, I was told this repeatedly by Sam!!
Cloverfield was followed by bed, snuggles and a long time of laying there with my eyes shut trying to persuade myself to go to sleep!
