Woke Gemima up at about 10-ish to get her ready for the drive back to London. This was later than planned but I figured I'd better give the sun a fighting chance to clear some of the snow away and I didn't want to get caught up in any delayed rush-hour stragglers!
We were finally packed, car loaded and ready to go just after 11am when Sam came into the bedroom and asked if Gemima and I would stay for a while longer as he didn't want to be left alone all day.
Given the tension when we'd first arrived on Friday, I was surprised but pleased that he felt able to ask, so I agreed that we would stay and watch a movie.
As it happened, it was decided that Eddie Izzard was preferable to watching a film, so Sam, Gemima and I had breakfast and a giggle for a couple of hours.
Gemima and I finally left at just after 1pm. The snow had mostly thawed by the time we got going but as we ulled out of the driveway a few more flakes started falling and we drove back to London through a continuous sheet of falling snow. Gemima was delighted. I was less delighted!
By the time we reached Karen's, the snow had pretty much turned to slush and was not worthy of being played with, so Gemima and Katherine opted for playing indoors.
After a yummy dinner of Spag Bol (thank you Karen) I left Gemima getting ready for bed with Katherine and bombed off to spend an hour or so with Mum and Aaron. It was nice to spend time with Aaron. I miss him now that he chooses not to come with me every weekend. We had a chat and he agreed that he would like to come this weekend, which is good as I will also have Gemima.
Left Mum's earlier than planned to go back to Karen's as the temperature is forecast to drop to stupid-below-zero and I really don't want to be discovering any ice patches whilst driving Keith's new car!
