KT's 40th birthday is looming up fast. The actual event is on Tuesday but I decided to invite a few friends around on Saturday evening to celebrate. It was a nice semi-surprise for him - he knew something was up and I am rubbish at keeping things quiet!
We were joined by Mike & Moira, Hazel & Shane and Sammy Grimwood in addition to our collective brood of Sophie, Sam, Aaron and Gemima. Jade and Pete were supposed to come but weren't able to make it. Not really a party as such, more of a raucous gathering.
Sophie and Gemima made a gluten-free cake and I put together a bunch of nibbles on the table. Fun, food, drinks, music, dancing about and pink balloons! We had a great evening, which came to a close at about 1am when the last guests left and the last child staggered up to their pit!
KT and I stayed up until just after 4.30am listening to music, dancing and singing, which was lovely... despite a brief break to sort out one particular child who had snuck a few mixed drinks too many and decided to treat the toilet to a technicolour yodel!
Tuesday will likely be a somewhat quieter affair. KT's Dad is popping in to do the prezzie thing and naturally I'll be heading over for the night.
